Wall Street today: A strong day for the market

Markets are expected to open lower for a second day in a row on Wednesday.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down more than 500 points, the S&P 500 is down nearly 300 points and the Nasdaq Composite is down about 200 points.

Investors were looking forward to a higher-than-expected GDP number for China this week, and the Federal Reserve’s latest statement on the economy will likely affect markets.

On Wall Street, stocks were off a bit, as some investors worried about an economic contraction in China, and there was some volatility.

But overall, investors were feeling bullish.

The S&amps Dow Jones industrial average is up 5.9% in the past 24 hours, while the Nascopp index is up 3.7%.
